Brief Description:The Lab Manager / Test Engineer is a dual-role position combining the responsibilities of managing laboratory operations with the technical expertise needed for testing and developing antenna systems and components. This role requires a blend of managerial acumen and engineering skills within an RF/electrical/electronic environment. The Lab Manager / Test Engineer is a member of the R&D department and reports directly to the CTO. Lab Management Responsibilities:Plan and oversee laboratory operations to ensure efficient workflow.Order and manage laboratory supplies and inventory.Ensure laboratory equipment is fully operational and maintained.Manage waste disposal processes in compliance with safety standards.Train team members on laboratory procedures and safety protocols.Maintain laboratory documents and records.Uphold strict safety standards and maintain a safe working environment. Test Engineering Responsibilities:Support product development and testing of antenna systems and components.Conduct analysis, validation, and documentation of microwave/mm-wave products.Engage in prototyping using PCB laser machines, CNC milling machines,3D printers, etc.Test and measure commercial antenna products in collaboration with R&D engineers.Process measurement data using software tools like Python.Prepare detailed technical reports for internal and external use.Manage and configure hardware and software systems related to testing.Assist in laboratory equipment calibration and maintenance.Help manage inventory related to test engineering. Qualifications and Requirements:Bachelor's degree in engineering, Science, Electrical or RF Engineering, or Physics.Minimum of 3 years of experience in laboratory management or test engineering, preferably with hands-on antenna prototyping and testing experience.Excellent managerial skills and ability to multitask within a fast-paced environment.Expert knowledge of laboratory safety protocols.Proficiency with RF and mechanical analysis tools, PCB design, and soldering.Knowledge of antenna measurement techniques, including VNAs and OTA chambers.Lean six-sigma experience is beneficial.Strong written and oral communication skills in English Competencies:Ability to work independently and effectively with a dynamic team.Proactive problem-solving skills and initiative.Competence in antenna/RF testing and prototyping support.Familiarity with PCB design software (Altium Designer, Keysight ADS, KiCad).Comfortable working in a laboratory setting employing the 5S methodology.
